SHAKIRA SOLD OUT TICKETS BEFORE THE POLICE

On Friday at midnight, when Shakira finally performs at the Rock In Rio World Stage, attendees will witness one of her last concerts before she starts to produce her new album, Shakira hopes to have it ready by mid next year.

The Colombian arrived to Madrid early on Tuesday, accompanied by her boyfriend, Antonio de la Rua, who's always by her side. Before showing up in the City of Rock, the artist noted that tickets for her show were sold out even before tickets to see the mythical banda The Police, led by Sting, offering their latest concert reunion on Saturday.

Shakira arrived from Miami, and after singing on Friday, she will depart early on Saturday to go to London, where she will meet with several producers with whom she is working on her new album. Yesterday afternoon, the singer/songwriter received EL TIEMPO for an exclusive interview.

What will be seen during your concert?

The show will be an hour and 10 minutes long. I wanted to change the repertoire a bit, the order of songs and outfits, which is the greatest nightmare of my life.

Why?

I wish one could sing without clothes. Of course it would have no value, because I am very shy with my body, believe it or not. It would be very practical, because there is nothing more exhausting to me than selecting clothing for the scenario, is quite different to choosing what you wear to go to the movies. It must fit in with the show, with certain conditions. It was part of what I had to do before coming, change my look a little bit.

How will this look be?

Kind of the same (laughs).

What did it feel like to know that your tickets were sold out before The Police's tickets?

That's when I said that I had to change the outfit right away. Spain was one of the places where the tour was more extensive, the public got to see me several times. So I had to bring something new now.

And sharing time with Amy Winehouse and Jamiroquai?

Rock in Rio is very important and these artists have achieved very important things, It's an honor to be with them on the same stage. I always give in to the talent and beauty, the beauty of what a human being can produce through his work. From Amy, I love her voice, and Jamiroquai, his songs.
